How we met
We first met in our first year of university, running an event. It was, simply put, a bit of a disaster (although not due to our organisational skills might we add!). In the end, Arron spent half the evening fending off very drunk freshers who were screaming at me.
At the time, nothing came of this heroic act as it was all rather chaotic but it was that moment that cemented Arron as a truly kind soul in my mind.
We didn’t start dating until our second year when I joined the Latin & Ballroom club. Arron was on the committee and I wanted IN. We went for lunches by the lake until we were no longer talking about ballroom and I had started wearing dresses on a normal Tuesday. At that point I figured that maybe I had developed a little crush.

Our first ever photo!
"I stepped onto the bus and saw her immediately, kind, selfless and organised. She was directing something fun that no one else would want to, because she got very few thanks. But it was a great night."

The Proposal
The Winter Gardens, Blackpool, was the site of the first ever Ballroom dance competition and for over 100 years since. We had competed there separately and together, and I wanted somewhere traditional and meaningful for both of us. When I proposed I couldn't believe how lucky I was, and we barely managed it once around the dancefloor we were so giddy. We won our gaudiest purple trophies there, but I won Beth's hand.
-Arron
“Arron had been way more nervous than he normally was for a dance competition which was suspicious but that didn’t stop me from bawling my eyes out when got on one knee because I had known I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him for a very long time. Of course it was a yes.”
